The Snow Leopards of Central Park

The Snow Leopards of Central Park

Have you heard?
It’s true; two
Leopards live
in Central Park
They’re there right now
In the dark, among the rocks,
In the zoo — as you
Devour your potatoes
And your tea
And step around the flattened
Velvet pigeons in the streets
They’re there
Homicidally bored
So envious of birds
If only they knew
How inhospitable
The continent’s become
And that, these days,
there’s no escape
For anyone
