The Israelis themselves are quite clear about their objectives. People should take them seriously. Rami Ingra, former head of Mossad’s Captive and Missing Division, claimed there are no innocents in Gaza: “In Gaza, everyone is involved. Everyone voted for Hamas. Anyone over the age of four is a Hamas supporter.” For the record, the last election in Gaza was in 2006, when Hamas won 44% of the vote. Nearly half of Gaza’s current population wasn’t old enough to vote in 2006. Many hadn’t even been born.
