The Fall

Back in the 20th century,
when I was young,
we’d talk about the weather
to avoid political discussions
It wasn’t yet so obvious
that weather is political
The weather and the climate
how pollution’s economics and
political economy is chemical
warfare there where
insects were prodigious still
discussions of the snowfall
and the lack thereof, the heat,
the floods, and all the loss
that flows therefrom, were innocent
