5 Reasons Not to Vote for Hillary Clinton

1. Money. Insofar as Heraclitus was correct when he said “Character is fate,” Ms. Clinton can be depended upon to behave like the money-grubbing fiend she’s always been. Unlike Bernie Sanders who grew up in a modest, progressively oriented Brooklyn household, Hillary Clinton grew up in Republican affluence. Not for nothing did she later serve on the Board of Directors of Wal-Mart.

Despite the Vietnam War and civil rights movement nudging her, as a 20-year old, into the camp of the Democratic Party, we mustn’t forget that the accumulation of wealth has always been her primary concern. It’s not her fault. She was raised that way, and her two brothers, Hugh Rodham, Jr. and Tony Rodham, are testimony to that fact. Indeed, compared to Jimmy Carter’s harmless doofus brother Billy, Tony comes off as an avaricious and pathetic con man.

2. Force. Look at her track record. Whenever and wherever there is an international dispute, her first impulse is to call upon America’s prodigious military might to quell it. In a word, the woman is a hawk. Indeed, why else would the military-minded Republican Senator John McCain have embraced her as he did? If it weren’t for the fact that she behaved like Margaret Thatcher on steroids, why would McCain ally himself with her?

3. Ambition. When you get right down to it, what Hillary Clinton lacks more than anything is a sense of vision—a Big Picture plan for the future, a rock-solid, overarching ideology that informs every element of her politics. But not only is that rock-solid ideology conspicuously absent, it has been withered and made irrelevant by a near-predatory ambition, one that can be expressed in three words: “It’s my turn.”

4. Mendacity. While every politician is entitled to lie when it suits them, Ms. Clinton abuses the privilege. Besides lying to make a point, lying to refute an accusation, lying to hide a lapse of memory, lying to attack an opponent (which she did when she ridiculed Bernie Sanders’ health care plan), Clinton will lie even when it isn’t necessary, as when, during the 2008 campaign, she lied about coming under sniper fire at an airport. Video evidence exposed her account for the ludicrous (and needless) fabrication it was.

5. Personality. As counterintuitive as this seems, Hillary Clinton is a terrible politician. Politics simply don’t come naturally to her. Not only is she incredibly thin-skinned for a public figure, she is suspicious of voters, and uncomfortable around crowds. As someone once observed, “Hillary loves humanity, but hates people.”

In his book, “All Too Human,” George Stephanopoulos noted the difference between Hillary and husband Bill, a man as comfortable in politics as a duck in water. If his staff were to remind then-Governor Clinton that he was scheduled to attend a fish-fry with constituents, Bill would beam with pleasure. By contrast, Hillary would cringe in dread.

In my humble opinion, for a multitude of reasons it’s time we had a woman president. Accordingly, come election day, I’ll be voting for Dr. Jill Stein, running on a Green Party ticket. You go, girl.
