Want Change? Root for the Orioles!

Their fans act as if the world owes them called strikes when the pitches are close, wins when the games are close, first place when it’s close in the standings, and championships every year.

We are talking, of course, about the New York Yankees.

If you know a Yankee fan, or if you listen to sports radio in New York, you know this — Yankees and Yankee fans represent the whining elite.

The Yankees are a team that was built by a corporate crook — George Steinbrenner.

In 1974, Steinbrenner pled guilty to making illegal contributions to Nixon’s re-election campaign, and to a felony charge of obstruction of justice.

In typical Yankee tradition, Steinbrenner whined about it for years until Ronald Reagan pardoned him in January 1989 — one of the last acts of the Reagan presidency.

You’ve gotta believe that change will not come to America as long as the team that represents the one percent — aka the whining elite — sits atop of the American League.

We will not get single payer national health insurance.

We will not topple the two party corporate dictatorship.

We will not secure a living wage for all.

As long as the Yankees dominate the American League.

And don’t look now, but this year might be the year.

The Orioles from blue collar Baltimore are clawing their way up the American League East standings — as of this writing — just three games behind the Yankees.

As in life, there is no sure thing in baseball.

And the Orioles haven’t been in the playoffs in 15 years.

But if you are looking for a signal from the Gods, look no further than Baltimore.

Want change?

Pray for the Orioles.
