mbrola/festival/screader questions
Hi,
OK, sorry if this isn't the best list for posting these questions, but
I'm sure some of you who read this know the answers...
- festival+mbrola with the en1 voice exhibits a bug seen thus:
[cut'n'pasted]
Festival Speech Synthesis System 1.2.1 September 1997
Copyright (C) University of Edinburgh, 1996,1997. All rights reserved.
For details type `(festival_warranty)'
festival> (SayText "choice")
Fatal error: Unkown recovery for ch-oi segment
[end clip]
and it fails likewise whenever anything like consonant'oi'* is
encountered. Does anyone know of a fix?
- screader (1.5) fails to speak to me through Festival, no matter
whether festival is the only tts given in the screader config file, or
one of several, which voice is festival configured for, etc. Each of the
two parts alone does work - screader speaks through rsynth's 'say'
command (btw this works fast, is intelligible, but the voice sounds,
well, depressing is one way to describe it...), and festival works
nicely by itself, up to the bug I mentioned above (quality is really
_amazing_, but it's slow, though). I'm really stumped on this because
screader gives no diagnostics whatsoever, just stays shut.
- and, at the risk of repeating myself - does anyone know how to make
the mbrola us1 voice work with festival? It seems that all that is
needed is one small Scheme file, but somehow I can't get it right.
Cheers
