You can "upgrade" to an old package easily, by doing:
rpm -U --oldpackage emacs-xxx*.rpm
or
rpm -U --force emacs-xxx*.rpm
I hope this won't be necessary, though.
To get extensive help on rpm, just do
rpm --help | less
