Hello,
may be you could use a packetdriver (can be found on the 3com disks)
instead of the odi stuff.  It uses less memory.
It may help.
ncsa telnet works well with it.
If uyou want to use novel at the same time,, you do have a problem.
Hope this help.
I am also using ncsa telnet and its ftp to access unix over 3com.
