Re: Minimum System Requirments (fwd)
Well first off I have to say I don't agree that speech slows down any
system true speech slows down MsDork and Windows 95 or any other Microjunk
product but when you use a true multi user system like unix which is
designed to run many processes at once you are in a whole other ball
game.
Now as for a true fast system that will depend on what you do with it. I
have ran one of my Linux boxes with a 486 50 mhz with only 16 mhz of ram
for ever and had no lag but I never ran xwin on it and I only used it for
one person on at a time so the load was really low.
My current Linux box is a bit of over kill but it was necessary since my
wife uses xwin and we have 6 computers netted with it that also use its
resources we have a Pentium 133 Mhz with 32 meg ram and it is starting to
bog down we need around 64 to realy get the speed we need.
So your Question is really dependant on what your going to do witht he
system.
JGood luck and feel free to write me if you think I can be more specific.
