Running DOS screen access software under Linux

Recently, the subject of running DOS screen access software under Dosemu
was raised in the discussion. Has anyone managed to achieve this result
successfully? If so, with which screen readers? My understanding is that
screen access programmes access the video memory directly and rely on
certain internal aspects of the operating system. It would thus be
surprising if they would run properly under a DOS emulation environment.

Vocal-Eyes, for one, probably wouldn't work due to its copy protection.

Please reply to me directly in order not to stray too far from the topic
of this list.

Jason White.
