I have looked a little for OCR for Linux but wanted to make sure I have
all the avaliable packages that are out there.  I am trying to compile a
list of all OCR packages avaliable for Linux.  These include thoes that
are only X, X and command line, and command line only.  Both freely
avaliable and commertial packages with a prefrence toward command line
interfaces. 

If you know of either working packages or any in progress, If you lemme
know...

Also, if you have had any success with them, include your experiences.  

The goal is to get one that works well, can be improved if needed
(hopefully GPL'd) and has a command line interface so that it can be
invoked from a shell script.
