locktones-0.4 (fwd)

A number of people have suggested that locktones have a way of only notifying
them when the state of a keyboard lock changes, rather than its original
behaviour wherein it would play a persistent tone for each active lock. This
functionality has now been adeded. Locktones also now works in DOS, and
supports the DOS insert mode. Precompiled binaries for Linux and DOS are
included within the package.
You can get locktones by going to "http://dave.mielke.cc", and then selecting
"downloadable packages". The latest version is 0.4, and there are ".tar.gz" and
".zip" files.
A quick note to those who have gotten earlier versions of locktones: My web
site is changed to "http://dave.mielke.cc", and no longer is
"http://dave.mielke.ml.org". The operators of the "ml.org" domain are
attempting to decommission it, so I am now registered in the "cc" domain. My
old address still works, but it will stop working, without notice, whenever
"ml.org" finally goes away. If any of you are registered with "ml.org", I
recommend that you initiate a change soon before it no longer works.
Here's the latest summary of locktones' invocation syntax. It should give you a
fairly good idea of how it works.
Usage: locktones [option ...]
Use the PC speaker to audibly indicate the states of the keyboard locks.
{-t | --toggle} Play an ascending (descending) tone sequence each time
a lock or mode is activated (deactivated).
{-a | --active} Play a persistent tone for each active lock and mode.
{-p | --poll} time The lock state poll interval.
{-d | --duration} time The duration of each tone.
{-c | --caps} pitch The pitch of the caps lock tone.
{-i | --insert} pitch The pitch of the insert mode tone.
{-n | --num} pitch The pitch of the num lock tone.
{-s | --scroll} pitch The pitch of the scroll lock tone.
{-h | --help} Write usage information to standard output and exit.
{-v | --version} Write version information to standard output and exit.
A "time" operand is an integer from 1 through 10 (tenths of a second).
A "pitch" operand is an integer from 30 through 10000 (Herz).
The defaults are: --caps=300 --insert=450 --num=600 --scroll=1200
--toggle --poll=1 --duration=2
