Line Editor Keystroke Guide

The following keystrokes are valid when using the line editor to:
  1. edit forms,
  2. to respond to prompts,
  3. define names for bookmarked URLs, and
  4. compose comments via mailto links or the 'c' command if an external editor has not been defined via the Options Menu.

Cursor Movement Keystrokes

  1. move back one character: left-arrow
  2. move forward one character: right-arrow
  3. move cursor forward one word: control-N
  4. move cursor back one word: control-P
  5. go to the begining of the line: control-A, <home> <find>
  6. go to the end of the line: control-E, <end>, or <select> control-L, and control-W,
  7. move to the next input field: control-I
  8. move to the next line: control-J or control-M
  9. input complete: <enter> or carriage return
  10. abort/cancel input: control-G or control-O

Deleting

  1. delete previous character: control-H, <DEL>, or <remove>
  2. delete current character: control-D
  3. delete next character: control-R
  4. delete next word: control-F
  5. delete previous word: control-B
  6. delete entire line: control-U or control-X
