[Oman-L] Eid mubarak to all Oman-L members - Tomorrow (Tuesday) the First Day of the Eid Al Fitr in Oman

Tomorrow (Tuesday) the First Day of the Eid Al Fitr  

       Muscat, Nov 24 (ONA) - The Ministry of Awqaf
and Religious Affairs has announced that the sighting
of the new moon of Shaw’wal 1424 is confirmed and that
tomorrow (Tuesday) will be the first day of Eid Al
Fitr.   

        The moon-sighting committee chaired by Sheikh
Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Abdullah al Salmi, Minister
of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and comprising His
Eminence Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Khalili, the
Sultanate’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid al
Siyabi, Deputy President of the Supreme Court and
Suleiman bin Abdullah al Luwaihi, Judge of the Supreme
Court, issued a statement saying that the committee,
convened today to receive and verify claims of
moon-sighting.  

        The committee received moon-sighting reports
from the wilayats of Al Qabil, Badiyah, Manah, Al
Amirat and Bahla and Niyabat of Samad Al Shan. 

        The committee after studying these reports
decided the moon-sighting was confirmed and that
tomorrow (Tuesday) will be the first day of the month
of Shaw’wal 1424, November 25th , 2003 and the first
day of Eid Al Fitr. 

         The committee sent the Eid greetings and best
wishes of good health and a long life to His Majesty
Sultan Qaboos bin Said and progress and prosperity to
the Omani people and the Muslim nation.
