Hello
"Oman: Political Development in a Changing World", by Carol J. Riphenburg,
published by Praeger in 1998, contains a chapter entitled, "Changing Gender
Relations and Development".
Two women have been elected to the Majlis ash'Shura, I believe that there is
one lady ambassador, and Reem bint Omar Zawawi has been appointed chairman
of Oman International Bank recently.
I regret that I am not aware of any ongoing studies of women in Oman
generally. I know that there is one market in Oman at which women only are
allowed to participate.
