For those interested in business and economics of Oman and have some
spare money to pay for a conference.. then the Confederation of
British Industry (CBI) is organising a business conference on Oman on 30
June 98 under the above title. So as not to be misunderstood, this is not an
advertisment for the conference! but it sounds interesting with some high
level Omani and British speakers (including Maqbool Ali Sultan, Minister
of Commerce and Derek Fatchett, Minster of State, Foreign and Commonwealth
office). The conference costs 94 pounds for CBI members and 117 pounds for
non-members including VAT. For those interested students and acadamics
in the UK why not contact the organisers and plead your case. I have done
that succesfully before and got away without paying! The person to contact
